To be eligible to participate in the Educational Research Forum you will need to complete an initial survey that collects information on your professional interests (such as subjects taught and type of school you teach in) and some demographic questions to help us classify your answers. This information will enable us to invite you to participate in surveys and activities that are most relevant for you. Once this survey has been completed and if your application is accepted, you will become eligible to participate on the forum. For each project, you will receive an invitation by email to participate. The community research will be conducted online. All you need to do is click on the link, or copy and paste the Website address into your browser window. Then, simply follow the instructions on the screen to complete the survey. The survey link will also appear on the community website under the "My Surveys" page.

Yes, usually. We will do our best to identify studies that look like a match based on your profile, although participation is optional.

On average, you will be sent a survey invitation about once or twice per term. There will also be new QuickPolls posted to the site every week or two, as well as occasional new discussion forums for you to participate in. You are welcome to take part in as many surveys and discussion forums as you like.

On average, our surveys are approximately 10-15 minutes; however, some can be as short as 5 minutes and others can be longer than 15 minutes. All surveys and activities are voluntary and we let you know the approximate length of the survey in the invitation so you can plan accordingly. As well, surveys can be stopped and restarted later from where you left off if you are in a hurry.

Yes, panel membership is on an ongoing basis but Educational Research Forum members can opt-out by clicking on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the Site to cancel their membership. Alternatively, members can submit a request via the Contact Us form or send an email to support@educationalresearchforum.com. with the word "Unsubscribe" in the subject line.

Upon unsubscribing your panel member account will be closed. In most cases it will take 2 to 3 days to process this change, but please allow up to two full weeks for your status to be finalised. In the meantime, you may receive emails from us. On termination of membership, your will no longer be able to redeem Points and any Points which have been accumulated will immediately be taken out of your account.

As a member of Oxford's Educational Research Forum, you may receive different types of reward depending on the type of research you participate in. For most surveys and activities, you will be awarded points that can be redeemed for OUP resources or a choice of gift vouchers after you have accumulated a minimum number of points (500). Our invitation for each survey or other activity will state the points/reward being offered.
